A few months ago I would have agreed with you. What changed my mind is that let's say you (I) am right about the Jihadists. What have they done against Israel for the past 15 years. Nothing. Israel has prospered, right?

I recognize the horror of 10/7, still, I don't believe it can explain the extent of Israel's response. That's long and complicated, but in the final analysis, I believe the threat of Jihad was mostly made up for political reasons. They are carpet bombing Palestinians for reasons I can't see connected to the threat of Jihad.
