Add to that, unlike WWI, every soldier has a magical device that will show him color movies of what happened yesterday on the front from both sides. I used to believe one of the reasons WWI dragged on for so long was lack of information. When they did the push to recruit groups of "pals" society still had little idea what was going on. Today, what more could we do to inform everyone? YouTube is still active in Russia. The Western media goes on about Russian media suppression, but the hard truth is no one is stopping Russians from figuring out what's going on. Sure, there are dumb Russians who will believe whatever the authorities say. But that's so everywhere.

It's sad many are attacking you in the comments because what you warn against has already been proven true. I expected the war to end soon. Now we have 300,000 injured or dead--growing every day. Like you, the sheer stupidity of it depresses me more and more every day.

I'm going to get flamed now too, but I agree with you. Give Russia the Donbas and Crimea. Russia is mortally wounded. Putin will be gone soon, one way or another--he's old and all his closest men. (with patience, Ukraine will get them back) But that won't happen because, I believe, the world has reached a materialistic end-of-the-road.

Everyone is selfish. All our governments are corrupt, from the U.S. to China. They're corrupt because we don't care. And we don't care because we don't intrinsically know what we want. Human only know what they want--good government--after they've killed each other for years. I've said countless time. We ARE in World War III and it will go on for decades.

The reason your plan (and mine) can't work is the West is provoking China when China isn't strong enough to shrug it off. They also have the same problems as the West. A gazillion apts/condos too expensive in upkeep (both financial and physical) for most people to afford.

Ukraine doesn't want to hear this, but when they do defeat Russia (and I believe they will), the World won't rush in to rebuild them. It will be busy waring with China though some proxy somewhere. Or dealing with other wars, Egypt/Ethiopia, Israel/Iran, Serbia, Armenia/Azerbegian, etc., etc. Or it will be waring domestically, a la Andrew Tanner's predictions for the U.S. And Europe?

I don't believe Putin's narrative that NATO was a threat to Russia. But I understand how he got mentally sick in the head and the truth is, deep down, the U.S. and EU understood the risk of war, but like Brexit, they just arrogantly doubled down. And they are doing it again with China.
