Agree with you about the Ukrainian Donbas propaganda. But when it comes to Crimea you may be susceptible to Russian propaganda and Ukrainian misdirection.
The U.S. has basically sent $50 billion in military stuff to take back Crimea. Do you really think that $50 billion is showing up for the territorial troops in the East? Like everything, wars go in cycles, up and down. Lately, it's been Ukraine down. But think what Ukraine accomplished in Kherson and Kharkiv with small pushes at the end of summer of 2022 when they weren't ready.
It's too early to call this war bogged down in attrition. Ukraine was taken by surprise. This summer will be the first test of what it can do properly armed, kinks worked out of logistics and, again, $50 billion.
