Any of us who can manage that once we pass 60 years of age is a rock star in my book! It's more than that, of course. You continue to write. Continue to risk and suffer rejection. My read of the story isn't that he was negative. You dealt with that. The last straw was that he never added anything positive to the visit. Never said once, "I love this place, come check it out." We can forgive quite a lot if the person has a passion about something positive.
