As a Chinese friend once remarked, "statistically, China with a population over a billion, could fill Harvard several times over with kids who have perfect SAT scores." I believe 43% of the white students are admitted on less than merit, but that doesn't mean they're not intelligent.

I didn't attend an Ivy but have lived near both Harvard (currently) and Dartmouth. The problem, as I see it isn't merit. The problem is lack of elitism. I know, what am I saying!? But there you have it. When Trump was elected I expected a mea culpa from Harvard and the Kennedy School. "Hey country, sorry that at the media empires we own, we put money ahead of civic duty."

The problem with Harvard isn't who they admit, it's what they do when they get out. The movie, "The Social Network" nailed it. In the future, when people look back, I believe they will raise it to "classic" status. The movie pre-figures everything happening today with Facebook.
