As Dauphin points out, yes, the Germans know people were getting killed at the concentration camps, but not in numbers that were out of place in the war. The extermination camps are different. There is no exhumation because the end-result is ashes.

I agree with you Israelis knew/know. That doesn't make the problem easier to solve though. It doesn't mean they all understand the depth of the problem.
