As I've commented before, you're too self-aware and curious for business. You ARE a writer. You ARE a public intellectual. Even if those are in a small way. How to feed your family doing that? For me it was doing the kind of complex financial reporting no one else wants to do. I believe there is also a place for you in the investment business. (I hate the industry btw, just to be clear, so hardly cheerleading here). Or maybe you can work at a larger consulting company. Find work in a place where people are afraid of their own shadow, of the blank page, of taking intellectual risks.

Or write a book about running! Or start a podcast or YT show on it. You'll never fit in. Never. Sorry.
