As you point out, but don't drive the point home (thanks, I have something to comment about) if Israel can't treat its own in a civil manner what hope for anyone else.

The hard truth is Northern Israel saw little difference between the Palestinians in Gaza and the Israeli humanists in the South. It fired on both with little distinction.

I know, that's quite some conjecture coming from someone who has never been to Israel. Sometimes an outsider looking at the evidence without bias can see these things. Or maybe I'm wrong.
