At some point in the future, people will visit Dubai like they do ghost towns elsewhere in the world. Without oil it cannot exist. And I don't mean the money from oil. I mean, actual fossil fuel energy for water, A/C, etc.

With oil getting more expensive to mine, and the climate running up our rebuilding bills, humans will retreat to cities with more readily available water and farmland.

It doesn't matter how rich you are. You can't eat gold, sand or drink sea water.
