Does it? Governments bend over backwards to show data that makes it look like renewables are replacing fossil fuels--all about getting votes.

But when one looks at the hard data, that is, the real amounts of oil/gas burned renewables hardly matter at all.

I'd love to be proved wrong. But you have to show hard data, and explain exactly what it represents.

The EU could have had 19% less emissions simply from a recession and/or mild weather, etc.

And when you write, "renewable have grown by 22% in comparison" of what? 22% of what? Gas burned for electricity? For factories? And how much oil in same period.

The think tank Ember, I bet, doesn't make money writing bad news in their reports.
