Hi Chris. Germany and Japan were the primary expansionists in the 1930s. The U.S. pretty much traded "Taiwan" for Chinese cooperation in pushing back Russia during the cold war--something never mentioned by the mainstream press. I don't see Russia as expansionist. Before WWII Ukraine was part of Russia and Russia looks at it, understandably so, as the Germans proved, essential to its territorial defense.

The current white house is against Russia because it wants to sell LNG to Europe. It also wants to give reason to its $1 trillion defense budget. Also, of course, Biden's family has made a lot of money through Ukraine. In short, the U.S. is hardly without conflicts of interests when it comes to Ukraine and Russia.

Indeed, Putin is probably scoring huge points with Germany and France, behind closed doors, in showing the true colors of US meddling.
