Tulips didn't maintain Dutch superpower status (it may have even hastened its end). Britain took over with Royal Navy. The U.S. with weapons factories and nuclear bombs. Whoever comes next, ain't going to be on Bitcoin.
Don't get me wrong. Bitcoin will survive like all mediums of black-market exchange. Replace a super-power's currency? I haven't heard one realistic arguments based on historical precedence or geopolitical realities.
