Hi Philip! This perfectly captures the mote in your eye. To you, that's a good thing, Israel is caring and generous. I get it. I feel that too. But to the Palestinian, it's controlling and patronizing.
If Israel gave full citizenship and rights to everyone within its borders than the hospital would have been built by the same government for all. We don't have that in the U.S. nor you in Canada. They should have it too, no ifs, ands or buts.
What is it to be a Jew? Do we have the right to divide people? Did God say "chosen" means do whatever you want? Or does he expect us to be more righteous than the rest and because of it get favored treatment? That is, prove to me God wants Jews to wall in another people and govern them how it sees fit?
I'm sick of the arguments that if they had an airport they'd bring in weapons. Or by ship through seaports. Who is it for us to speak for God in this area? We are nothing. We live for a nano-nano-nano second. Even if the Palestinians did all those horrible things who is it for us to say that is NOT God's plan? Perhaps the Holocaust was a lesson. A lesson not learned.
Let's look at it another way. Let's say all Jews in Israel renounced all their Earthly possessions. They prostrated themselves at the feet of Palestinians and asked to live in simple huts. Would Palestinians kill them? I doubt it. This thought experiments indicates that the conflict is about wealth--materialism. It isn't about Judaism. It's wealthy tribe against poor tribe.
The choice is between righteousness and false idols (money).
Hope you're well!
