Hi, thanks for the interesting comment! I don't believe I'm negative towards Tesla or even EVs. However, I love having fun in blow-harding away in my armchair so I can certainly understand if I come off as negative. So let me clarify.

My point to Paul has been very simple. Tesla is now facing competition from 30 legit EVs, the likes of which I see more of daily. All that you write about Tesla probably applies to them too--otherwise they wouldn't sell.

IF I owned a home I'd consider a Tesla. Sure, I could get one if I really wanted to. But all I care about is getting from A to B in as little time as possible. I can't even handle the 3 minutes at the gas pump! I don't use my car for work, but if I did, my time would be even more precious. So many people, EVs come at the cost of time. That doesn't matter a lot because, as I pointed out, most people buy EVs for status, not for the level headed reasons you do ;)

Hyperloop is where I really soured on Elon Musk. You have an engineering degree. You tell me if our engineering talent was best served working on that dead end (all the problems of space brought down to Earth).

Tesla is not significantly reducing carbon emissions nor will it ever do so. You have different data, I've love to see it.

Elon Musk has promised a cheap Teslas for a long time. When someone says it'll come next year forgive me if my blood pressure goes up! He could lobby Congress to give more money to infrastructure to make that more likely, but he doesn't. The best practicing hypocrites are in the Tesla EV space. Oops, there I go again!

You're a wealthy guy with a wealthy car. When you say "cheap", to who? I'm happy if you're happy! Seriously. I'm sorry if that comment comes off as obnoxious but this is how I see it from my armchair--rich people driving around in Teslas totally oblivious to the experience of most people.

Teslas are no longer special. The company is cash strapped despite all the BS I read about "margins". It's biggest asset what the brand and lack of competition. The competition is now here. Will the brand survive? Sure. I see Gucci. I see Apple. I see Rolex.

If I'm negative, its about people who buy EVs because they think it'll save the planet. Or buy them pretending everyone can afford them, in price or time spent charging them. Again, I'm not saying you're one of those people! I'm just pointing out there wouldn't be so much negativity if people were REALLY honest about why, and how, they were able to buy a Tesla.

I dunno. Maybe I made it worse with this comment? Cheers! BTW, if I was going to buy an EV I'd buy the Volvo. You may not be elitist but I am. That thing is bitchin' ;)
