I agree with John that Putin is a smart and historically knowledge person. I agree Putin can sound very impressive. I agree with some of the things Putin has said over the years.
HOWEVER, Western politicians, do not have the luxury of dictating the rules of an interview or their public appearances. If Trump or Biden tried that historical "explanation" they'd lose all their voters. 99% of people don't want to hear that nonsense. The 1% who do, they read John or I ;)
Carlson didn't question anything Putin said that I'd question. He'd be able to do that with any Western leader.
In a one on one match, between Russian leaders and American leaders, where both have to play by the rules, Putin would lose. Why? Because he can't fight a fair fight. Just my opinion. As it is, even if I was a Putin supporter I'd argue, as Vlad Vexler did, that Putin missed many opportunities to win over Americans.
Just starting with his believing his history rationales would win Americans over. I mean, that is SO SO SO funny! I've argued in my older pieces that Putin is an old man who is beyond, beyond out of touch with reality. He's surrounded by other old men similarly happy to send young people to die for their messed up desire to feel virile.
