I (and others) have certainly been wrong about Tesla so far. However, you wrote about our weaker arguments here. And that's what gets me going ;)

Ultimately, the world runs on energy and resources. it's getting more expensive. Tesla offers wealthy people a way to believe they're saving the environment while not actually doing anything to reduce C02 (in any significant way). If people really cared they'd insist that all EV chargers work on all cars. They'd insist that carbon credit be used for energy generation, not energy consumption.

Few people who buy Tesla's work in energy production, farming, water management, etc., etc. It's just accumulated wealth and the other side of it is the homeless all around us. Or the Amazon workers who drives an affordable ICE car to work. Or the million of migrants, and growing, around the world.

Tesla is a mass delusion of the wealthy. They can't imagine WWIII. They believe it will all work out that there will be cheap energy for everyone. If there is, then yes, Tesla will win for all the reasons you cite.

I don't see it. Tesla isn't a technology, it's a psychology. And psychology won't get Russia out of Ukraine (to put this in shorthand).
