I believe if you read the history of China and the Middle East you will discover that Taiwan is fairly simple. They lost the war for the Chinese mainland but were able to capture the Island (formerly Formosa). Now that China is strong it basically wants Taiwan to surrender from a war that's been on pause for 70ish years. Taiwan says "um, no".

As for Gaza and the West Bank or the "Palestinians", they were never a country. Do you believe Jews were given the land of another country? That wouldn't have flown, not even in 1945. The Palestinians don't even agree on who/what they are, as evidenced by the simple fact that they have two government, the PLA and HAMAS. The situation with non-Jews who live in the region is horrible, but unless one looks at the outside influence beyond the EU and U.S., that is the Arab countries in the region, and Iran, one will buy into a one-sided narrative.
