I believe most people would admit they're not intellectually curious. They want to be treated fairly and honestly by the experts, like Doctors, and the legal system, the government, etc.
This is our shared myopia. You, me, curious writers, their audience. We're a very small minority and always will be. Nothing will convince most people to become curious. They don't see the point and even if they do they'd rather live in ignorance bliss. So yeah, nothing new under the sun here.
The difference between Biden supporters and Trump is that Biden supporters believe authority works well (and it does for them) and, ironically, believe there is no authority (just consensus by experts). While Trump supporters believe authority is corrupt (which it is when they seek help with their problems, like the border) while again, ironically, believing there is more authority (corruption of the elite) than there actually is.
Most of them aren't curious. Not even a little bit.
