I clapped as much as I could. I really can't wrap my head around it, that Netanyahu is still PM. I don't want to think it, just like I didn't want to believe Russia would invade Ukraine, or the U.S. "fight" to the last Ukrainian--I don't want to think it that Israel may not recover from this biblical mistake of going it alone.
Going back to your friend's reference of the Romans' treatment of Jews. An argument can be made that then, like now, the Jews sorely underestimated the the patience of of the existing super-power.
In letting Netanyahu stay in power I believe Israelis have unwittingly paved the way for a 2-state solution, but like the end of WWII, one that others will decide for them.
