I don't believe you're equating Hamas with anything. You're a journalist of the highest integrity and caliber. Maybe it's just me. Almost two years into the Russian invasion of Ukraine and it gets harder for me to clear away all the cobwebs of in my brain from the continual manufacturing of consent that goes on before I was born and will continue after. If that makes any sense.

Antisemitism to me was just one of those beliefs, that some friends might talk about, that seemed harmless to me. Zionism too. Although relatives of mine were exterminated in Poland, I had no direct relatives who lived in EU at the time. They had immigrated here before the war. But who am I to say who or how someone else should relate to their relatives, or religion, or ethnicity, whatever.

Again, seemed harmless to me though I disagree with anyone using dead people to support their political views. That is, I'm not going to say my dead relatives give me license to say it's okay for me to say the problem in my life is antisemitism. They might not agree. They might say it wasn't antisemitism that got them killed, it was a war on the poor and feeble and they were caught up in a geopolitical pissing match.

If you or someone else says I'm wrong, that it IS known what happened. What can I do? We all have different opinions? What it is to be Jewish, or a Zionist, isn't a question that can be conclusively proven by fact.

Today, antisemitism no longer seems a passive harmless subject. It isn't a question of opinion. It's a statement of political position. Zionism is like a virus that has infect and taken it over.

As such, it naturally looks to push out the doubts, questions, history of the word. And what word to replace it?

It's why I keep posting to you Israel <> Jewishness. Or antisemitism doesn't equal anti-Israel. Pro-Israel doesn't equal pro-Judaism, etc. Of course, to some people these things are true.

We must all work with the words we have. I am having a LOT of trouble communicating what I think when a lot of money (political agenda) goes into co-opting these words. Worse, I'm having a lot of trouble thinking in the first place. You may laugh ;)

I'm not looking to correct you. I'm looking for sympathy, believe it or not. We must look out for each other. Thanks for reading.
