I don't get this "jerk" thing. The Columbia student got an instant education in what happens when you accuse someone of romanticizing rape in public. Roth has a right to scream. He knows he will be called a jerk by some. That's his choice. It's the Columbia student's choice what to think of him. Shouldn't you read the book the Columbia student referenced and decide for yourself the merits of her question?

I understand you're just making this story interesting--and it worked 100% for me. But I need to point out you may have turned people off from Roth which I know you didn't mean to do. But like the Columbia student. You tread the provocative path. So I'm screaming a little :)
