I don't think we disagree. The invasion presented a few questions. 1) Would it be okay if Russia took over Ukraine 2) Should we negotiate or fight back (and if so, how hard)? 3) how much of our economy should we change to deal with it 4) What does it mean about our relationship to Europe, to Asia, etc.
So everything you say I don't disagree with. Various politicians had differing views on the issues above.
I believe those issues have simplified. If Russia wins we lose. They improve their situation economically and Asia will treat us with less respect (try to take advantage if they have any brains--haha). There's no other way around it. That's my point. That's why I believe the political issues you brought up WERE right, but are less relevant now. Less relevant, not completely gone of course!
