I enjoyed your story but find it ultimately sad. Have you read anything Patton wrote? He was extremely well-read, curious, and all agree, a great leader. Although he made many racist comments they were honest observations and never said in the "these people don't deserve to live" way. He was very curious about the places he fought through. VERY Curious AND respectful.

Although he always wanted to win, he also wanted to do it with as little fighting as possible.

He was against professional military officers getting caught up in political witch hunts. Anyway, I hope you'll go read some of the stuff he wrote. A truly remarkable man.

He could have easily succeeded as an historian too.
