I get a bit irritated with Volodymyr Zolkin when Russian prisoners go into their cockamamie stories about how they're going to make money in Ukraine. He keeps insisting, "why did you cross the border to come kill Ukrainians" and it's obvious they don't care about that. One of the prisoners said he wouldn't even pick up a gun.

My favorite, best I could understand, is the guy said he had a job that paid X working for the government. But if he served in the operation he would get a 40% increase in pay. so that was his only plan, to get that checked off and go home. Volodymyr would keep pressing him about the war, insinuating he was making it up, but you could see the guy couldn't have made up such a convoluted story. He complained of the rent, rising food prices, etc., etc.

I also believe that many of those ammo dump attacks are from Russians who were paid off. I bet that's a huge racket going.

It's one reason I've stopped writing about Ukraine. It's less of a war and more of a business of death and destruction. Depressing.
