I hope you’ll keep questioning your views. Let me go through the issues you have with Bloomberg.

He’s buying his way into the election

Yes, but that won’t make him money. He’s already fabulously rich. Maybe he’s doing this because of his ego, but isn’t everyone? And is corporate money any better? You’re right, there are negatives. But you’re not looking at the positive. Like Trump, he can be his own person, so to speak. The last election has shown the importance of those optics. Would you rather he give all his money to his Ivy League alma maters, like Harvard?

He’s abusing the DNC

Over the years the DNC and Republican Party have done well in making people believe they are government agencies. They are not. They are private country clubs. You join and you respect the hierarchy and if you break their (private) rules you’re kicked out. Trump has shown how corrupt the Republicans are. Unlike you, I’m all for Bloomberg showing DNC’s true colors too. Let me put it bluntly, they care more about money than your ideals. Political parties are not our friends, at least they’re not mine (they never get anything done I want). I’m an independent, for what that’s worth. I wish everyone was.

He said sexist things

Much of Wall Street is a sport, just like football. Men gravitate towards it and they bring their male sense of humor. Is that right? No. Is it changing? YES! Just like women feel pressured to keep their head low (and not lean in) men feel pressured to say provocative (competitive) things. Again, that is changing but it will always be there. Bloomberg is far from perfect, but judging him on a few incidents when he cannot defend himself to you is not fair. You weren’t there. I wasn’t there. But I’ve lived long enough to know these stories, once all the facts are known, aren’t black and white.

Bloomberg has 20,000 employees, many women (I know one). Keep them in mind too.

Was an associate of Epstein's

Seriously? See the thing above. Your ad hominem attack serves no purpose but to alienate others towards him. Aristotle points it out as the lowest form of political sophistry. Is that really the kind of person you are? How would you feel if someone judges you on all the people you were photographed with at some horrid social event?

Racism

All politicians in NYC, or any big city with a large black population, will eventually get caught doing something that looks bad. There’s no winning. In general, it’s a serious thing to call someone a racist. Bloomberg’s elitism is about being book/math smart. Further, as a Jew he’s 2% of the population. Like all Jews, he’s in no real position to be racist. His mindset is his parents escaping the Holocaust.

Education

Mark Twain, around 1895 said something like, “First God made morons. That was just a warm-up. Next he created school boards.” What makes you believe his efforts in education were bad? This is the same area where I see many opinions but little education about education! Have you worked in a school? Have you had to figure out which school to send your kid to? Again, Bloomberg is an elitist about intelligence. If that’s the issue to you, why not address it directly?

I’m not arguing for you to vote for Bloomberg if he ends up the candidate in the general election. But I hope you’ll put all the issues into perspective.
