I know nothing, but my guess would be 'yes'. That what the "deep state" does, of which he was a part. My 2-cents is they only meant to scare him but something went wrong. This has happened in the U.S. One of the friends of the Marathon Bombers was interviewed in the South (forget details). He was unarmed. Then the FBI claimed he rushed him. After 5 hours of interrogation, no weapons, others surrounding him with weapons? Nope. It was a part time FBI contractor who shot him near naked a few times. Where is he now? Never prosecuted. Free as a bird. The public does NOT care. The story was buried and when those facts came out no one cared anymore, as if they really cared then. It's guilt by association for any "foreigner" in the Axle of Evil here.
This story and Noora's comments are very interesting. I have trouble following. My guess is that even my limited knowledge of the Middle East is more than 1 out 1,000 people in the U.S. (that's conservative).
Invading Iraq because of WMDs was the lie of all lies. I like Colin Powell but I could read it on his face he knew it was a lie. Yet lie they did. Did Americans accept the lie? No. They couldn't care less one way or the other. It was theater to them. If Bush had said we're going to attack Canada I think Americans would have went along with that too. I believe it's difficult for you and Noora to appreciate the level of Geopolitical apathy in America. If the U.S. accidently dropped a bomb in the Middle East many Americans would shrug it off (as they do so much else).
Growing up, I felt the U.S. had some principles. No longer. Maybe it's just my age. We give weapons to a country to drop on people's homes. I can't wrap my head around. Then we don't give enough to those we say should be able to defend their homes from bombs.
Well, you can see you've gotten me pretty depressed. Everyone in the Middle East better learn how to get along. The U.S. would nuke the whole place in a heartbeat and forget it the next day. Yeah, the Khadafi thing. Clinton. Ugg.
