"invest their money back into Russia"? In what? What does Russia manufacture that anyone wants? In the past couple of decades they've invested everything in oil, starving their manufacturing industry. Everyone has gone into servicing energy and resources.
How did taking over Crimea help Russia economically? Or Georgia or the Donbas? All it brought were sanctions. But Russia didn't care because it wanted to strengthen its access to natural resources.
Russia is not on a war footing like the U.S. During WWII the draft pulled men from everywhere, including the cities. I have yet to see any Russian soldiers from St Petersburg or Moscow.
It's a "Special Military Operation". Not my words.
I'm 100% critical of the West. But to call the war a "game-changing boon to Russia" economically doesn't foot with a 19% interest rate on a currency no one, even China or India, want to trade in.
How can you be so brilliant about Israel but blind to Russia's house of ruble-cards. Of course, what do I know! One day we'll wake up and the Putin regime will be gone and all mayhem will break out. If that happens, IF, what will you say?
