I see it the other way, not chaos, stagnation. Putin was all into democracy while it paid, he was less interested in it when Russians started getting poorer and less influential on the World stage.
Can we forget that the South's economy is based on resources? Show me a plantation or hole in the ground and I'll show you an autocracy or monopoly nearby.
The national Republicans and Democrats have dialed down the rhetoric. They're both on the same page when it comes down to protecting the interests of the borderless wealthy. My guess is they pressured the Tennessee State Republicans to back off, to no avail. This is just the beginning of State terrorism looking for more Federal pork now that the stimulus bucks are over.
If you're from Tennessee the cities are more expensive than ever, if you want to escape. We're in for a shit-storm.
When Putin exits, we'll have bumper stickers, "Never Thought I'd Miss Putin." Trump, too, is going to look tame against what's coming, which you so deftly explained (until that last paragraph) haha
