That statement is exactly the problem many of us doom and gloomers have. Do people demand and get change? Or do they kill each other and try to fix on the re-build? What are your axioms when it comes to human nature and social change?

I write a fair amount of what you'd call doom and gloom. Ever since the first newspaper was launched, doom and gloom sells. I understand that you're trying to differentiate between "spreading awareness" and "inciting panic" (if only ;) HAHA )

I wish you could differentiate between doom and gloom that sells advertisements and doom and gloom that tries to explain our current situation and where we may be going.

You argue "Be Here Now." I can't argue with that. But anxiety finds us no matter where we go and reading historically informed doom and gloom can help. It helps me enjoy my days.

Believe it or not, many deep doom and gloomers are raging optimists.
