I'd reject that concept too! Where did Israel get the power to become that, if it is? When Britain helped Jewish Zionists "settle" part of the Levant did the British kick Palestinians out directly? Not that I'm aware of. Did Britain kick out American Indians directly? No. Yet can we understand either situation by pretending Britain had nothing to do with the growth of Israel or the United States? Same for France and Spain in other places, etc.

Could Israel "mass slaughter Palestinian children" without American weapons? Every plane they use is American-made. Yet the U.S. has nothing to do with it? This is one of the fundamental issues in any discussion of Israel. Where do the colonial interests of the West (U.S. and Europe) end and Israel's interests begin?

People who are new to this subject focus on the people firing guns at each other. Then they start asking themselves, why do these people have guns in the first place? Who is supplying them? Why? Why don't the Arabs try to help Israel prosper instead of kneecapping them every chance they get? Why doesn't Israel forgive Arabs when they act badly and try better to mend their relationship? So many questions!!!

And the guns keep flowing in...
