If I may quibble. All solar and wind equipment that converts solar into electricity degrades. Even in space, where humidity isn't a problem, solar panels have a 20-30 year life. If they didn't, ISS would go on indefinitely.

That said, the ratio is very high. So I feel you should adjust this story accordingly. I understand you point A VERY IMPORTANT ONE, but you don't want to lose quibblers like me ;) Though you'll never lose me of course ;)
