I'll make the argument that the conflict is as simple as can be. If people actually tried to "Free Palestine", using full force, they might see the complexities faster than a thousand hours of research.

From the other side, I ask my Israeli (hawkish) friend why Israel doesn't invade Iran if it's so worried about nuclear attacks. He has no answer, but I know it forces him to pull back on his explanations about what I don't understand.

Hamas killed indiscriminately. Israel killed indiscriminately (no matter how much they may have tried to warn people). Perhaps we'd be better off if all the parties fought it out, no holds barred.

"It's too complicated" may be be true, but it's never a solution.
