I’m sure I would find no shortage of evidence of U.S. bs, especially when the U.S. only used Afghanistan to get back at Russia. There are many things the U.S. does that disgust me. Between us I’m sure we could fill pages.

But in the case of Afghan women today, especially those who want to pursue a profession, the U.S. was a good thing? Yes? No? Maybe it’s only 3 women and not enough for the U.S. Maybe nothing is enough.

But I feel, as an American, I can’t have it both ways. Either I want others to enjoy my standard of living and freedom and give them the opportunity, or I need to close my borders and shut down most of the military. I wouldn’t serve in the military. I’m a coward in that way. But what about those who do? What about those who do try to make a difference? Why shouldn’t I explain why their efforts are admirable. The U.S. didn’t fail completely in Afghanistan. Many will get to immigrate to the West. It’s not all bad. I want to give the rationale for why their efforts have deeper meaning.
