In a way, perhaps. Since discovering Richard Crim here on Medium I've been giving this subject a lot of thought. Despite that effort, I cannot prove to myself that climate change is going to be apocalyptic.

I think it is, but I'm prone to doom and gloom ;)

Show me an explainer that anyone can read/watch that proves, within 10 minutes, that climate change will begin to obliterate mankind in the near future. I haven't found one (and try to come up with one myself).

I believe those who believe the climate is changing dangerously need to move away from proofs to risk assessment. What is the risk of an irreversalbe tipping point? Have there been ones in the past? Would we have been able to do anything about them if they happened today?

Covid has shown me that even if everyone sees a real threat humans will not work in a "save humanity" type of way. We're just not wired for it. I don't see that it can be changed. If we don't factor that in, then no matter how right we may be about climate change, "I told you so" is no real solution.

So why beat up on those where that is baked into their denial?
