In my view, Ukraine never had proper U.S. political support. However, there's a sizeable chunk of Americans and Europeans who all agree on one thing--Russia must retreat from Ukraine. And they continue to flood money and tech into Ukraine to do so. Trump in no way represents them. If anything, probably increases their motivation.

Ultimately, as has been said, Ukraine's problems are everyone's problems who want to live in an open society.
