In the space of 6 months almost 200,000 Jews were killed in Lithuania. One reason is the Jews felt they were safer under Russian rule than German rule. That just made Lithuanians pissed when Russia invaded and took part of their country. So they started killing Jews before Germany even make it all the way into the country. From these horrific social conflicts was NATO created.

So the question is, will Europeans refrains from killing each other en mass should NATO get disbanded? Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. NATO is a problem. The U.S. is no saint. But I feel your story could be more balanced.

If Europe doesn't need NATO anymore why the 100,000 troops? I don't believe Russia is going to invade. I believe they have real concerns...still.
