Interesting questions! I'm one of those who believe it's an "unsustainable monster."
I'll use your reference point, which I agree with, that all money derives from solar power, either as coal, oil, gas or directly through photovoltaics or wind, etc.
There's a fixed amount of power, I hope you'll agree. If one wants more they have to mine more or construct more wind farms. If we just had a huge influx of "free money" why have energy prices started to move up significantly. Why are there blackouts in China?
I'll suggest the reason is that people have lost the connection between money and energy. More energy creates more money. More money does not create more energy (unless it is invested). And the only way it will be invested is if the energy produces more money which...is it? No.
So all the money either goes into living expenses (energy) for those without wages or Bitcoin for those who don't need the money to live on (buy energy).
What that means is free money reduces the demand for energy because it disconnects the relationship of EVERYONE's money to energy. Instead, the wealthy produce only as much energy as they need (invest the rest in Bitcoin) and basically give an allowance to the poor which doesn't cover their full needs. That's what's happening in China because of price controls but that's a rabbit hole discussion.
Energy is not free. Therefore, money should not be free. The free money is coming to an end. The poor will freeze this winter.
Sorry to come to the exact opposite conclusion you've come to. Interesting read!
