Israel, Dylan and Me

Geopolitical Analysis: We Stand In Canoes In Very Rough Seas

My grandmother Rose on the left. How I remember my Jewish side of my family.

Lately I’ve been pushing back on what I perceive as Dylan’s faulty backing of Israel’s actions in the Middle East. I also push back on Nadin. In this story I will make the argument I would have made a couple of years ago, which is aligned with theirs.

No, I am not arguing that I have progressed to greater truth and they are prisoners of old fallacies. My other stories do that haha! Seriously, we all work on this, one day at as time. None of us claim perfect knowledge.

My father was Jewish (he died a while back). My mother was Methodist. Neither one of them said a religious thing to me my entire life. One day, in my early teens, I asked my father “Why did the Jews wander the desert for 30 years…someone dropped a quarter” He visibly recoiled and I was surprised at how upset he became. But he did not say anything.

My observation growing up was that the Jewish side of my family argued continuously and were all keeping track of how much money each one made, what schools their kids attended. I saw Jews as greedy materialists. Sorry!!! The Scottish-English-Irish side of my family hated the phone and when they were together barely spoke.
