Israel should have ringed the border with the troops that should have been guarding it in the first place. It should have tried to form a coalition with the U.N. to get the hostages back. NOTHING Israel does will bring 1,200 people back.

Why should it do that? Because the Palestinians in Gaza are a problem Israel, the U.S., Russia and Britain have been responsible for since 1948. We wouldn't be talking about either without taking the superpowers and interests into account.

If Israel wants to go back to stick and stones to fight them, okay, then return all the military stuff given to them. The canard that there can be another Holocaust for the Jews is complete and utter nonsense. Israel has the 60 nukes to prevent it, if nothing else.

So that's my answer. The Superpowers gave birth to Israel, Israel does not have the right to fix the problem with carpet bombing. But hey, it's whole history is "easier to ask forgiveness than permission." Israel's make their own rights and give little to the displaced Arabs of 1948.

Most nations want Israel to exist and prosper. But not at the point of embarrassing them in this grotesque fashion.
