I've written elsewhere that Israel's problems with Palestinians are only unique in concentration and visibility. In the U.S. "Palestinians" (poor people) are spread out and we pretend not to notice we let 80,000 of them overdose every year out of depression. The U.S. is like a tall person. It can hide a lot of fat (or in this case, marginalized people).
My argument isn't against Israel specifically, it's against the policy of dehumanizing people and basically killing them off. However, I believe that's not going to change. I believe Israel will get rid of Hamas in a year but it will come at a cost for poor Arabs AND Israelis. Same here in the U.S. The line between rich and poor is about to move significantly.
