Just in case you're talking about me ;) I agree with what you wrote in this piece. I'm writing something similar at the moment. Our disconnect is you believe Ukraine can negotiate with Putin, at this point, and I don't believe it can. It could only acquiesce to most of his demands. Jesus would probably say, so what, do it. There's certainly a strong argument there. If one really believes in God, they would accept it.

I wish I was strong enough to do that. My problem is that Putin's regime is emotionally angry in a way that no one can talk them out of that anger and resentment. B. Kean recently wrote a very good piece about this.

If you told me, in your practice, that you could change a man from beating his wife and/or kids to never beating them anymore, I'd listen! If not, then there's no simple answer here.
