Many stories here! Focusing on one aspect you bring up. I take it your argument is that heat pumps, in certain environments, are more efficient than other forms of heat (if we're talking about winter heating). However, that efficiency doesn't change the fact that they need fossil fuels to work (in their manufacture and manufacture of other sources if not burning gas directly).

Adding more heat the Earth in addition to what the sun provides ends in tears? Is that right? Thanks Fred!
