Most young people I know can't afford anything but an old used ICE. I'm looking at global populations. 20-40% of Chinese youth can't get a job. China has, from what I can tell, millions of EVs sitting in EV graveyards.
I'm looking at global resources. The suspected materials shortages for EVs may disappear, for one reason or another. But I don't see it. My supermarket has enough trouble keeping corn flakes fully stocked ;)
I see more and more EVs where I live which is wealthy. I also see my old car broken into more, and those of my neighbors. It's good EVs don't need much maintenance because soon it will be dangerous to drive them anywhere that would provide it ;)
So I agree with you that EVs have all the benefits you say they do. I just don't believe 90% of the planet will ever enjoy them. Indeed, will die in the business of mining the materials and fossil fuels to keep them running.
