My dime-store novel guess (I know you get that ref James) is the West was rattled by that first F-16 shoot down by friendly fire or Russians. Whatever happened, failures all around.

So I do believe the F-16 with the latest missile, assistance, and the West doing whatever it takes to recover from the F-16 fiasco.

Also, the glide-bombs are the #1 problem Ukraine faces at moment.
