My favorite is Jimmy Carter. I didn't care that he didn't "get anything done." He was an honest, thoughtful, caring person. Otherwise, no one who has run for President, in my lifetime, has done much for me. I think Bernie Sanders is half-cocked on economic stuff, but he is smart, caring and all that.

Like you said, money in politics takes it out of the voters hands. You need millions just to run for a Congressional seat.

In college I tried to start a poetry magazine. I had to meet with a committee. They asked me what my editorial policy was. Being 19--and it was a poetry magazine--you can imagine what I thought of them. I argued that it would be whatever I wanted it to be.

I remember them laughing as the meeting ended. At the time I though they were laughing at me, but in retrospect I think they were happy there was a kid at that school that wanted to start a magazine instead of get shit-faced. They only wanted to teach me that values matter.
