Nice piece, though allow me to be more forceful than you chose. In the next year the money to Afghans will run out from the U.S. and Pakistan. There will be a return to civil war, as you say. The Taliban and other tribes will be DESPERATE for cash. They will practically hold trade shows for any super power wanting access. I don't mind the U.S. leaving. What I mind is the U.S. not sharing its what-if scenarios. Like what if China builds an air base in Afghanistan? What if India and Pakistan go to war over it? So many questions.
