No offense to the Chinese, but I wouldn't want to tangle with the Japanese. First, their defense forces are all volunteer, which means you're getting some seriously committed people. Especially their Navy. Some say the best in the world, bar none.

The Chinese military is notoriously corrupt, partially because they're allow to run side businesses.

Then there's engineering. I'm into photography and no one can match the Japanese there. Same for cars. I have a Toyota RAV4. The only thing that's going to stop it is rust.

If it weren't for the atomic bombs, the Japanese probably would have fought down to the last man. So, um, no thank you to screwing with that small island nation ;)
