Obviously the Russians worked hard to locate those tanks. Finding 31 of anything in a country as large as Ukraine is quite an undertaking (maybe they sent more tanks?). Russia had to 1: locate 2: destroy 3: get back. I agree with you, you can't expect every tank to survive, but those were PR wins. You'd think Ukraine would have put them on safer duty. And MAYBE they did, but Russia still did whatever needed to get one.
