On the first point, I over complicated. "rebel" or "terrorist" is the name for the losing side (or one you want to lose).
What makes the U.S. work, to me, is that it has many competing interests. So I agree with you that if this changes, if some group of MAGA, tea party, Christian Nationalists, whatever, can take over the government bad things will happen.
Where we disagree is I believe that has already happened with corporate interests running the country. They don't care whether it's Trump or Biden. Like you say, Trump was happy to play along with the simple rule of "Pay to play".
But Biden does the same (has his whole career), but worse to me because its hidden behind closed doors. This creates an anti-corporate which has rallied around Trump.
That Biden says he governs for the public interest has always been, and is especially now, a whopping lie. (sorry if you like him). He'll do a few things for image. But he never stands up for the little guy like he says he does. He's not trying to help kids with school debt He's just trying to get votes.
Pay to play or we'll legislate in the back room, what difference to me? Sorry, I see none.
Biden has not explained his plan for Ukraine (which Ben Hodges has pointed out from the beginning). He has not explained why our bombs are dropped within the border of Israel. He EXPLAINS NOTHING. He's completely unfit for office, has been for a year or two and yet where is the independent thought from your average Democrat voter?
None. Why. They WORK THE BACK ROOMS of corporate America. They'll ignore the children killed in Gaza so they can believe they're the good guys, not the guys who do the explicit Pay to Play. They believe they're saving the planet. They believe they're civilized, unlike the MAGA crow they ceaselessly mock on every show on Comedy Central.
And no one will hold Biden or the Democrats accountable because they worry about the other side, those behind Trump. Fix our side and the other side goes away.
The our side I'm on is maybe 5% of the population.
Both parties only think about getting re-elected tomorrow. Until the electorate holds them accountable for the deaths they caused yesterday, and insults they hurl at other Americans, nothing will change.
Not that I expect change.
