Paul, are you the kind of guy who gets a small inheritance and invests it with the financial "advisor" who promises you the highest return? Why do you quote from lobbyist organizations?

Look at the data. Here in New England, comparing 2016 to 2022, Oil/Gas has gone up from 55.7 GWh to 56.2 GWh. Solar and wind have gone up from .7 GWh to 7.4. Sure it's an increase, but it hasn't decreased the amount of greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere.

Further, like hydro, there are only so many places you can effectively place solar and wind. I believe that's already stunted their growth. Just yesterday, I was examining the e-waste that was a solar powered notification system at a train stop.

Anyway, the REAL data--what's being burned today-- says your story is wishful thinking. Okay! If that's what we need PhD programs for, cool. When I was young people didn't want to hire PhDs because they didn't understand the real world. I didn't believe that at the time. I'm finally learning ;)
